Trent Bender/General Music
My name is Mr. Trent Bender and I am excited to be the new general music teacher and chorus instructor at Neely Traditional Academy! I am a graduate of the University of Iowa with my Bachelor's of Music Performance Degree and a Licensure in Music Education. While in college I performed with the University of Iowa Marching Band, Symphony Band, Symphony Orchestras, and Undergraduate Choir. In 2007, I began my student teaching and started my career! I have taught music for 5 years in the Aldine Independent School District outside of Houston, TX. and also the Mesa Public School District in Arizona. I have been a successful band teacher, private french horn and trumpet teacher, as well as the leader of a church choir! I am involved in the Arizona Music Educators Association, International Horn Society, and National Association for Music Education.
Locally I play french horn with the Arizona Wind Symphony and am a substitute musician with the Salt River Brass. This year I plan to start my Masters Degree in School Administration. I am an avid sports fan, love to hit the gym, and love the outdoors. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my wife and dog! Occasionally I enjoy getting a round of golf in between the wife and dog! I am extremely excited to join the great staff at Neely Traditional Academy and excited for the opportunity to work with such talented kids! My email address is <Trenton.Bender@gilbertschools.net> and phone number is (480) 892-2805, ext. 350.
