THE ZONE
The Zone is a place for Tweens & Teens to learn new things, to come hang out, have fun, make friends and be safe all summer. Many different activities and classes will be offered to keep your tweens and teens busy. There is a low staff to student ratios with specialized instructors for classes and counselors for all field trips and camp activities. We offer Sports Clinics, Hip Hop class, Cooking class, Arts and Crafts, Cake Decorating, Field Trips, and more!

Community Education has computer terminals available at our office located at 6839 E. Guadalupe Rd. in Mesa (on the southeast corner of Power and Guadalupe Roads).
 
Field Trips

 Classes
Archery
Come learn the ancient art of archery, learn safety & proper handling. Develop your skills with the bow. All supplies are included!
Strength Training
This 3-day camp will focus on developing speed, strength, and flexibility to enhance performance and minimize injury risk in all sports including football, basketball, soccer, hockey, tennis, baseball, and track & field.
Softball
This clinic will teach the participants the proper technique of throwing, catching, base running, and hitting in a fun and positive environment. The participants will participate in drills that reinforce the proper techniques.
Flag Football
Class will start with learning the rules and fundamentals and move on to improving their game. The class will end with “the zone bowl”
Soccer
Basic skill building is the focus of this clinic. We will teach and reinforce the basics then sharpen your game. Individual skills include: passing, kicking, and positioning.
Basketball
The participants will learn the proper technique of shooting, dribbling, rebounding, and passing through the daily skills sessions.
Volleyball
This camp is designed to teach and review all of the basic skills while introducing new features to your game. Individual skills include: passing setting, blocking serving and defense.
Baseball
This clinic teaches the basic skills of baseball, with emphasis on fun and participation. The skills taught include: throwing, fielding, infield/outfield practice, relay drills, rundowns, double plays, hitting, bunting, running, sprints, stealing, sliding, and game situations.
Cooking/Iron Chef
Have fun as you and your friends create your favorite appetizers, entree's & deserts! Learn basic skills & enjoy your creations. Each participant will also receive a zone cookbook.
Hip-Hop
Do you like hip-hop and R&B music? Come have fun learning to dance to the music you enjoy. Participants will learn the fundamentals of hip-hop at a comfortable pace.

Cake Decorating
Fry's Bakery will be teaching a cake decorating class this summer. Learn basic cake decorating techniques while having fun. All supplies are included with this class.
