Staci Burk was elected in November 2010 to her first term on the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board and is an avid supporter of quality education for all children. She has been a strong advocate for children with disabilities as well as those identified as gifted. Over the years she has volunteered in the schools as a field trip chaperone, assisted with grant writing, teacher appreciation events and classroom parties.
Ms. Burk graduated magna cum laude from Arizona State University in social work and holds a diploma in nursing. She has past experience in the public schools as both a nurse and social worker. Ms. Burk has served the community as a red cross disaster nurse, working the front lines in Hurricane Katrina and has volunteered for several valley non-profit organizations.
Ms. Burk has three children currently attending Gilbert Public Schools and a son in college who graduated from Desert Ridge High School. In her leisure time, she enjoys time with her family, reading and scrapbooking.

Julie began her first term on the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board in January 2013. Julie Smith and her family have lived in Gilbert for the past 10 years. She and her husband David are the proud parents of four beautiful children. Julie holds a bachelor’s degree in nutrition. She previously worked for the VA Hospital system as a clinical dietitian. Her current profession is being a mother to her children.
Julie is also an active community volunteer in healthcare, education, and politics. She currently volunteers at the Banner MD Anderson Cancer Center. Julie is active in politics serving as a precinct committeewoman and precinct captain for the Republican Party.
Daryl Colvin, Member
Daryl took his seat on the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board in January 2013. He is a small business owner who has had a connection with Gilbert Public Schools, as well as the surrounding community for many years.
In the Gilbert community, Daryl has served at his church as a choir director, Sunday school teacher, and emergency preparedness coordinator. In addition, he has served Boy Scouts of America as a merit badge counselor and spent the last 30 years as a precinct committeeman in the Republican Party.
Daryl has a love for the arts and is a classically trained tenor soloist, who has performed professionally for audiences. He and his wife, Michelle have six children who have graduated from or are currently attending Gilbert Public Schools.

Jill Humpherys, Member
Jill Humpherys began her service on the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board in December 2012 and has been a parent advocate for public education. Humpherys has been a longtime supporter of Gilbert Public Schools. Since her children have been attending Gilbert Public Schools, she co-founded Gilbert Music Matters and Gilbert Supporters of the Gifted, working with the district to improve music education and gifted education.
In addition to her active role in supporting music and gifted education, Jill has volunteered for field trips, parties, the Art Masterpiece program, and classroom activities. She has served on the board of Gilbert High School Choir Boosters and as a member of the Parent-Superintendent Council. At her church, Jill has taught youth classes, planned service projects, and implemented emergency response procedures. She also supports the Boy Scouts of America, as her husband has been a scoutmaster for eight years.
Jill is a full-time mother. Jill has a BA degree in English from Utah State University. She is married to Richard Humpherys, and they are the parents of five children. Three children graduated from Gilbert Public Schools and two currently attend. She enjoys reading, exercising, cooking, hiking, camping and travel in her spare time.
Lily Tram, Member
Lily was appointed to the Gilbert Public Schools Governing Board in April 2008. She was elected to her first term in January 2009. Lily holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Management and a Post Baccalaureate in Accounting from Arizona State University.
Currently, Lily is the Assistant Director for Arizona State University's Financial Services Office. She oversees and manages the staff for the Accounts Payable/Travel areas and the business operation functions for Financial Services. She also oversees the business operation functions for Human Resources and the Executive Vice President for Business and Finance areas. Lily worked at Arizona State University for more than 20 years in various areas of accounting.
Lily is married to Tri Tram, and they have three children who attend Gilbert Public Schools. She has volunteered over the years for various activities such as the school oceanography trip, class projects, field trips, and classroom parties. She is also a long-time parent volunteer for the Phoenix Chinese School.
In leisure time, Lily enjoys reading and attending school activities and sporting events, hiking, and spending time with her family. Lily is an Arizona native, born and raised in Phoenix, and has lived in Gilbert for11 years.
